Best hemorrhoid treatment?
Is there a specific brand thats best? Is there a specific method thats best (wipes, gel, lotion, pads, ect)? Approx. how long does it take to work?
These are prescription products which have helped me.
#1. Anucort – hc 25mg. It’s a Hydrocortisone supository.
#2. Analpram HC. Application exactly like Preparation H.
I’ve had a problem similar to this for many years. I recently had a colonoscopy (sp) and the test required removal of two inflamed polyps. — (non cancerous)
* ** I was required to not eat foods with roughage for two weeks. During that time my problem literally dissapeared. I’ve lived on shredded wheat in the morning for years. I switched to Cheerios, stopped popcorn and nuts. My food intake was clocely monitored by my wife (Rn.) I felt much better at the end of the two wks..***
I agree wholeheartedly with consuming Metamucil type products daily and drink a minimum of 6 glasses of water or juice products. Try to limit juices to cranberry, grape, cran-apple or cran-raspberry.
Stay away from acid foods. Tomato’s, orange juice, pasta etc.
All these suggestions came from my Gastorenterologist. (sp) Dr. of human intestines. Hope hope you feel better soon.
Proctitus/Hemorrhoid treatment?
I’ve had irritation and itching on-and-off for years, sometimes with a little blood. In the last few months, it’s gotten worse and has been a daily problem. My doctor examined me and diagnosed me with proctitus, although they are the same symptoms as hemorrhoids. He prescribed sitz baths and prescription suppositories. That was a month ago and the problem persists. I’ve been taking 1 sitz bath a day. Should I take more than 1? I did call my doctor and now he’s suggesting surgery, which I would like to avoid! Any suggestions?
Tucks Medicated pads and eat more fiber to have a better flow so there is no pushing. Take a deep breath in the nose and let it out the mouth when trying to go #2. Repeat 3 or 4 times to relieve pressure. This will help from pushing the little buggers out and keep from bleeding. Surgery as a last result. We all have them. Some people’s never get pushed out. Good luck, they can be painful.

How to Get Rid of Hemorrhoids Fast? I need to cure my hemorrhoid fastly.?
This hemorrhoid is really a nasty thing and painful. Please help me solve my problem. What is the best hemorrhoid treatment?
I do research for hemorrhoids treatment since 3 years. My name is Dr. Delton.
Getting rid of hemorrhoids may be something that will become a priority to you someday, if it hasn’t already. Right now, the concentration will be on getting rid of severe hemorrhoids, which may actually end up becoming life threatening if not dealt with.
Hemorrhoids are actually very much like varicose veins. The vein becomes irritated and inflamed for some reason. It can become sore, swollen, painful, burning, and itch really bad. When a hemorrhoid becomes thrombosed, meaning it develops a clot, it may be so painful that it’s almost unbearable. With the pain associated with this type of hemorrhoid, you will want to seek help immediately. If you have a thrombosed hemorrhoid, you will need to get rid of that hemorrhoid fast. The only way to do that, is to have your doctor remove it.
Another type of hemorrhoid that you will want to get rid of fast, is a prolapsed hemorrhoid. With this type of hemorrhoid you will notice that it is coming through your anal canal. It is actually an internal hemorrhoid which comes through the anal canal, possibly becoming stuck, and having to be manually pushed back up into the canal. Getting rid of this type of hemorrhoid may take surgery. If hemorrhoid treatments don’t work, or it becomes unable to be put back manually, you may need medical help to get rid of it.
Strangulated hemorrhoid are another type of hemorrhoid that you will want to get rid of fast. With a strangulated hemorrhoid, there is severe pain that will get your attention for sure. When you have a strangulated hemorrhoid, what you really have is an internal hemorrhoid which has had the blood supply cut off. This is very painful, and actually creates an emergency situation. If you develop a strangulated hemorrhoid, you will need to get rid of the hemorrhoid fast. Seeking immediate medical intervention is necessary.
There are some good options for getting rid of hemorrhoids which have become severe, and are possibly life threatening. Depending on whether you are in an emergency situation or not, you may have a choice about which method is used to get rid of your hemorrhoids. With a thrombosed hemorrhoid, sometimes the best option is a minor procedure which is able to be done on an outpatient basis. The doctor will either remove the clot in the hemorrhoid, and some of the surrounding tissue, or do a complete hemorrhoidectomy, taking the whole hemorrhoid and some of the surrounding tissue. It all depends on the severity of the hemorrhoid.
An option when dealing with a prolapsed hemorrhoid might be PPH ( Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoids). This hemorrhoid treatment is meant to reduce the size of the hemorrhoidal tissue, making it possible to get rid of the hemorrhoid faster and with less pain than surgery or simply waiting would give you.
Getting rid of hemorrhoids may be something that is done in an emergency if necessary. Taking care of the hemorrhoids before they become an emergency may give you a better chance of avoiding invasive treatments to get rid of hemorrhoids. We have researched the best products and compiled a list of the most effective hemorrhoid treatments for you. Based on customer feedback HM is the best solution regarding results, time until relief, customer service, and overall satisfaction, HM earns our recommendation as the most effective hemorrhoid treatment.

does OHIP cover cost of hemorrhoid treatment?
need help for a friend, who has little money and in lots of pain. he currently has no family doctor
If he goes to a clinic and gets a prescription, it may be covered … (but like all drugs in Canada, they are not 100% covered) …
If its in clinic or hospital treatment, it WILL be covered …
It will NOT be covered if he just buys something (like prepH) off the shelf …
Hemorrhoid treatment center?
Has anyone ever been to the "hemorrhoid treatment Center" (a place that specializes in removing hemmy’s using infrared coagulation?
Is it painful? Did your insurance cover it?
I called this place and it sounds very expensive after all the follow-up visits (~ $5-6K total).
I have been suffering now for about 1yr and really need to do something about this, but kinda scared to go to see the Dr.
I am not really constipated and clean with prep H wipes after each movement. But, I do notice that maybe I also have internal hemmys that prevents all the BM to completely come out after I wipe. Very uncomfortable to say the least.
I had the rubber band ligation done a few months ago. The procedure itself didn’t hurt and the insurance paid for it. Afterwards it was kind of uncomfortable until the hemmorid falls off, but the Dr gave me Vicodin for pain and that helped alot. If you go this route, plan on resting at home for at least a day. It wasn’t expensive, I saw that the insurance company was billed 129.00, so even if you have to pay for this, it’s not overly expensive.
PS it’s very embaressing, but a necessary evil.
Good luck and get it taken care of asap!!
Home treatment for thrombosed external hemorrhoid?
Can I use a needle to lance/pop a thrombosed external hemorrhoid myself? Or will the emergency room doctor do it? I am out of town so can’t see my family doctor and can’t wait until I go home next week.
If you do it yourself, you are risking a lot. It isn’t like a pimple that you can easily pop. They are very vascular and tend to bleed a lot. The ER is the place to start. They shouldn’t "pop" it in the ER, unless they have something to tie it off with, band it, or cauterize it to stop the bleeding. They may just tell you to ice it or give you something for the pain. Then, when you get home, see your doctor to set up a time for the small surgical procedure. If you do decide to do it yourself, expect excessive blood loss, pain, and potential infection.
Is there any treatment for a pedunculated external hemorrhoid with out having surgery?
What can I use to reduce swelling?
An MD can put a tie or band around it and it will drop off. He will give you something to keep it fairly comfortable. As far as swelling all of the OTC preparations are about the same.
