I’m sure I’m bound to get some idiot responses, but an actual, informed answer or two would be greatly appreciated.

Regular treatment is best. They sell these wetted wipes/pads that are moistened with witch hazel that reduces the swelling. I think preparation H is kind of harsh and grossly sticky.

If you have a health food place near you such as Whole Foods, ask about this herbal remedy that they sell, something you take by mouth.

As far as beyond that, laser surgery is an option but I don’t know much about that.

I don’t know if it is required in all cases, but I know that surgery is one way to cure them. (My dad and grandpa both have had surgery for it before.) I know it’s pretty painful afterwards. Check out http://www.webmd.com and search for a more complete answer on there. They offer ideas for home treatment and suggest when a condition is serious enough to seek medical help, etc.

Straight witch hazel, applied at every….uh…opportunity. It’s the main ingredient in over the counter medicines, and a lot cheaper if you just buy a bottle. Apply with a cotton ball. Also, soaking in a bath with epsom salts will greatly reduce the pain.

Welp…I’m not going to be the idiot answering!
I’ve got a great book called Prescription For Nutritional Healing and here’s what some of it has to say.
In simple terms…if you need more…click on my name and we’ll talk more.
Vitamins to take….Calcuim Magnesium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, B’s,Cholin and Inositol. Helpful….Shark Cartilage (that by the way is one of the ingredients in Preparation H….which is used for itching, swelling and burning discomforts. That Vasaline looking med. is also used for models to shrink wrinkles around their eyes because it shrinks the skin!…and I find that it helps with the itching of Mosquito bites!)
    Recommendation it says:
Eat plenty of foods that are high in dietary fiber, such as wheat bran, fresh fruits, and nearly all begetables. Apples, beets, Brazil nuts, broccoli, foods in the cabbage family, carros, green beans, oat bran, lima beans, pears, peas, psyllium seed, and whole grains are recommended. A high fiber diet is probably the most important consideration in the treatment and prevention of hemorrhoids.

Drink plenty of liquids, especially water. Water is the best, most natural stool softener in existence. It also a prevention to constipation.

Avoid fats and animal products. Red meat and high protein diets are especially hard on the lower digestive tract.

Take 1 or 2 teas. of flaxseed oil daily. This oil helps to sften stools.
Learn not to strain when moving the bowels.

Warm water on the bothered area is helpful. A bath for 15 minutes a day is quite helpful. Though do not add bath salts, oils or bubbles to it! Sitz baths are also helpful!

    Get plenty of excercise.

To help bleeding hemmorhoids eat plenty of dark green leafy vegetables. There are high in Vitamin K.

    Learn proper lifting
Avoid sitting of standing for prolonged periods of time.

    Considerations.

Infared photocoagulation. this involves the employment of infrared heat to treat minor internal hemorrhois. It is less painful than ligation but is not always as effective.

Injection sclerotherapy. It’s used to shrik them and stop bleeding, a solution containeither quinine and urea or phenol is injected directly into the effected area.

Lazer treatment.. The easiest and least painful methosd. Repeated treatments are frequently required.

Ligation. The most common treatment approach. A small rubber nad is used to tie off the base of the blood vessel. Once blood circulation is eliminated from the offendin g vessel, it soon detaches and the rubber band is eliminated with body waste. This approach often requires repeat treaments and is painful.

    Surgery.

    Welp….that’s all for day…luckily I enjoy typing.
Hope some of that works. I myself recommend eatting better and taking the Vit. first…If that doesn’t help plus the Preperation H…see your doctor.

    Have a painless day!
